Knee 2 Rehab Right

At-home exercises can help you recover from an ACL injury. Doing these exercises can help you regain strength and movement without causing further injury to the ACL.

Avoiding exercise that compresses or puts weight on your knee is important. Instead, the focus should be on strengthening the muscles surrounding the knee. These exercises can be done at home, ideally with the input of your doctor or physical therapist. Your goal should be 4-5 times per day. Here are a few of my favorites that should be used after surgery.

It is important to note that not all surgeries are the same, and many people have additional injuries that are also addressed during surgery. This can change the overall post-operative precautions, including range of motion, so always consult with your surgeon and/or physical therapist about what is best for your knee.
